Awesome
I think this will allow for players to have a much better gameplay experience. You won't have to devote so much time doing these yourself which should make this experience alot more enjoyable. I also Like the fact that even when logged off your companions still fulfill the jobs you give them. this is gonna be one hard game to top MMO wise can't wait.

Never really did any crafting in the games I have played, but this looks doable for me.

I have been researching the crafting aspects of the game, and I am really intrigued. The crafting skills fall into 5 general categories as follows;
•Cybertech - This skill specializes in Droid upgrades, but can also craft earpieces. They also make modifications for certain items: Harnesses, Overlays, Underlays, Circuitry, Gadgets and Generators.
•Armstech - This skill specializes in creating weapons like the Assault Cannon, Blaster Pistol, Blaster Rifle and Sniper Rifle. It also allows a player to craft weapon modifications: Barrels, Scopes and Triggers.
•Synthweaving - This skill specializes in creating armor, allowing a player to craft light, medium and heavy variations. There were no other item categories listed, so you can probably assume that the skill will not be able to craft modifications, instead leaving that to other skills like Cybertech.
•Artifice - This skill specializes in creating modifications for items, including lightsabers - something Jedi will covet during their journies. The item categories the Artifice skill can craft are: Circuitry, Emitter Matrix, Focus Crystal, Focus Lens, Gadget, Harness, Overlay, Underlay and Resonance Crystal.
•Biochem - Allows the creation of performance-enhancing serums and various implants. You can consider this the 'potion maker' of The Old Republic.
I believe I (my companions) will be specializing in the Artifice skill... being a Sith Maurader, it would seem to be a natural fit. Given time I hope to supply our force senistive members, the best lightsaber components available.

Alright, we have armour and force related items covered. What does every one else intend to do? Remember with this system, crafting should not cut into mission and exploration time to any great extent.

As a Bounty Hunter i will go ether Cybertech for Gadgets or Armstech for weapons and armor.

... and a suggestion; we should make a seperate area for crafting. At the head of it a sticky with who is crafting what, so all know who to see for their needs. That would also give a dedicated area for crafters to post their needs. As well as a place for members to post their their stocks of materials... and excesses. It will also serve as a place for the guild market place to start, depending on Auction house mechanics and guild bank mechanics.

I will be doing the biochem crafting. I'll be the buff master and it fits with being a sorcerer lol
